Vice President – Sustainability Director, Southeast
Rex Hamre is JLL’s Sustainability Director for the Southeast Region and Vice President with JLL’s Project and Development Services. Rex is a LEED Accredited Professional in Building Design & Construction and Operations and Maintenance.
Based in Atlanta, Georgia, Rex leads a team of sustainability professionals managing local and national sustainability projects, including sustainability master planning, efficiency programs, healthy building initiatives, all LEED Rating Systems, and the WELL Building Standard. His work focuses on leveraging the bottom‐line benefits of sustainability initiatives to achieve positive environmental impact.
Rex has served as sustainability manager in every major asset class, including commercial office, K‐12, higher‐ed, multifamily residential, and professional sports.
As a sustainability manager at JLL, Rex led the development and implementation of the Braves SunTrust Park and Battery Sustainability Game Plan, delivering holistic efficiency benefits, cost savings, and multiple LEED Certifications. In 2015, he transitioned the Wells Fargo LEED program to a national JLL platform, serving 51 individual LEED projects in 2016. In 2017, he led the development the JLL/LaSalle LEED EBOM Volume program, completing a prototype for all JLL-managed LEED EBOM projects going forward.
Currently, Rex serves as sustainability manager for several major ground-up headquarters projects, including NCR, Mercedes-Benz USA, and Interface, Inc.
Mr. Hamre holds a degree in Real Estate from The University of Georgia’s Terry College of Business. He is an active member of the Georgia Chapter of the USGBC and is serving as advisory board member of the Lifecycle Building Center, an Atlanta-area non-profit.
