Mr. Hanky has crafted club anthems for top artists likeCity Girls, Usher, Young Jeezy, Gucci Mane, Yo Gotti, and Young Dolph. His work has dominated the airwaves, with hits like “California” (Colonel Loud ft. Young Dolph, Rico Barrino & T.I.) and the RIAA Gold-certified smash “On the Way” (DJ Luke Nasty). He also produced the viral sensation “Smile Bitch/Living My Best Life” (Lil Duval ft. Snoop Dogg & Ball Greezy), which topped Billboard’s Urban Radio chart for six weeks and the R&B charts for 12 weeks. More recently, he produced “Love Is” (Queen Naija) and the viral hit “Twerkulator” (City Girls).. T.I’s “Trauma Bond” and “Pistol On The Dance Floor”. The latest collab with “Rick Ross” “Living Large” ft. Big X Da Plug.
A Legacy in Music Production
Starting out with Collipark Music, Mr. Hanky helped launch the careers of Soulja Boy, V.I.C., and Ying Yang Twins, laying the groundwork for Atlanta’s evolving hip-hop scene. His diverse production credits span artists like Dae Dae, YFN Lucci, Wale, Travis Porter, K Camp, Fabolous, and Plies.
With a signature style that blends hip-hop, R&B, EDM, and Top 40, Mr. Hanky continues to push boundaries. “I work hard to create music that crosses genres and reaches different demographics,” he explains. His ability to craft timeless records has kept him in demand for over a decade.
Musical Roots & Career Evolution
Born Corey Dennard and raised in East Atlanta, he developed his musical talents early, playing trumpet and piano before earning a scholarship to Southern University, where he performed in the Human Jukebox Marching Band. His production career began in college, selling beats out of his dorm room before securing a role as an in-house producer at Collipark Music.
In 2006, he launched Mr. Hanky Productions, producing standout hits like “Throwed Off” (Treal Lee & Prince Rick) and “Smart Girl Dumb Booty” (Tex James ft. Stuey Rock). His track “California” was featured in the movie Keanu and multiple major films, solidifying his influence beyond music.
In 2018, he launched Cultural Resources LLC. a full-service production and entertainment company which became the home for all of his production and artists.
In 2021 he co founded Klean Energy Kulture a non profit catered to environmental justice to underserved communities. Projects like “Electrify The City” which revitalizes prominent staples in the community through energy efficiency audits, and workforce development, have taken the organization to new heights. So much that the City of Atlanta’s Office of Sustainability has partnered with the organization for its upcoming projects.
Innovating & Elevating the Sound
Mr. Hanky’s philosophy is simple: “I encourage artists to step outside their comfort zones and reach a wider audience.” With new artists under his wing and a star-studded album in the works, he continues shaping the sound of urban music.
Quiet as it’s kept, Mr. Hanky has been making hit records for over a decade—and he’s just getting started.
