Daniel Blackman has built his career on a conviction that influence carries a responsibility to serve. Across government, sports, entertainment, and philanthropy, he brings people and institutions together to turn cultural influence into climate action, community investment, and opportunity.
A former U.S. presidential appointee, Daniel served as Regional Administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency’s Southeast region, leading its work across eight states, and subsequently as its first Senior Advisor for STEM Recruitment and Diversity. He is Vice Chairman of Edelen Renewables and previously served as Director of Advocacy and Strategic Partnerships at The King Center under Bernice A. King.
A writer and creative producer, Daniel is developing The Color of Climate, a documentary exploring the intersection of sports, entertainment, and climate impact across the American South and the Global South. His storytelling work extends to hosting events and fireside chats during the Sundance Film Festival, with a new series of conversations planned for the 2027 festival in Boulder, Colorado.
He serves as a board trustee of Support + Feed, an organization founded by Maggie Baird and supported by her children, Grammy Award-winning artists Billie Eilish and FINNEAS. In parallel, he has co-produced OVERHEATED and hosted its events in Atlanta, Georgia; Berlin, Germany; and London, England, in collaboration with Eilish’s global tour.
Daniel served on Atlanta’s 2013 NCAA Men’s Final Four committee and is actively collaborating with WME on activations surrounding the 2027 Super Bowl and the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles. These engagements reflect his commitment to connecting the reach of major cultural and sporting events with a lasting responsibility to the communities around them.
As founder of XΞRMINUS, Daniel is building an institution connecting culture, artificial intelligence, and climate diplomacy across the American South and the Global South. His vision brings family offices, industry, philanthropy, and civic institutions into partnership to expand access to knowledge, capital, and opportunity—and strengthen the ability of communities to shape their own futures.
He is also the founder of RENAISSANCE94 (Ren94), a global social impact consultancy advancing climate resilience and a just transition to a sustainable future for all people.
